On Wednesday November 7th we decided that we were going to go to the movies to see Bohemian Rhapsody. Before the move we decided to walk through the mall for a bit. On our wander we came across a place called the Charming Cat Corner. I looked in the window and low and behold there were kittens (both babies and older babies) everywhere. My first mistake, as both Annette and Paul said, was walking in. Immediately a little orange guy came running from the back room and wound around my ankles looking up at me, purring, and with a little “meow” escaping his mouth. As soon as Paul said something to me he ran over there and wrapped himself around Paul’s ankles purring with another “meow”. My second mistake was sitting down in a nearby chair. The same little orange guy jumped up on my lap, started kneading my legs, purred so loud you could hear him across the room and closed his eyes as if he had found home. Paul was sitting on a couch on the other side of the room. He said “oh, there is another kitty who picks you. I’m just chopped liver”. Immediately the orange tabby jumped off my lap, pranced over to Paul, jumped into his lap, began kneading, purring and closed his eyes for a nap once again. This little guy did everything he could to let us know he had claimed us for his “forever people”.
We went on to the movie, which was fabulous and I suggest if you like the music of Queen, you much see it. Freddy Mercury was a lover of cats and there were several in the movie….a sign?…..I know so!
By the time we had dinner the mall had closed so we had the evening to decide on the little orange kitty. We talked about it most of the evening and in my heart of hearts I thought that he chose us. My dilemma, is that our house already has Scarlett who has been an only cat for the last 3 years of her 8 years with us and loved every minute of being an only kid. When she had siblings, in the past they were grandma’s and she was young and energetic, she was last on the who’s “alpha” line. Because she still loves to play I felt like once she stopped being angry there was a new kitty in the house she would love the company and enjoy the camaraderie. We agreed that Milo would be his name and we would pick him up the next day.
Day 4 – Scarlett is still not happy. As a matter of fact if she sees Milo she is hissing and the rest of the time she is apathetic.
Paul leaves me this note:
My Dearest Wife;
I’m writing to tell you that I am running away to a place where orange cats are forbidden. Thanks to the internet I have found this place. The journey is long and arduous – yet I hope you can join me someday. I leave it to you to tell the others what you wish. I am taking only what I can carry and will trust fate to provide for my journey.
All my Love, P
PS I’ve gone out for a walk about 7:45. Sausage and biscuits for breakfast?
The day went well with Scarlett and Milo. They didn’t exactly play together but they were within a few feet of each other without the world coming to an end. Maybe, it will all be alright in time. Let’s hope that peace and love with prevail.
More Kitten adventures to come……

Yay! You’re a writer! I finally found the blog. Milo sure found a great family. Can’t wait to read more about him.
